Click here for a welcoming message from Flor.

Hello Everyone!

I am excited to be back at Crossroads as the Children's Ministry Director. I see how God is offering me the opportunity to learn and grow with you and our little ones, to work side by side with our great teachers, and to meet our precious families. Jesus reminds that to receive the kingdom of God we must become like a little child!

My name is Flor Norris-Hoydilla. I was born in Guatemala 50 years ago. I have been a Virginia resident for 25 years. Crossroads has been my home since I moved to Ashburn in 1998. I am married to a wonderful man, Steve, and we have 7 kids together as a blended family.

Perhaps my name sounds familiar because I was appointed by the United Methodist Church as the Pastor for the Latino community at Crossroads UMC. During that time, I was honored to lead Crossroads Grace Ministries, Imagine Meet-Ups, Women's Ministry, and our Missions and Service Ministry.

I have attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC, as part of the Local Pastor requirement for the United Methodist Church. I hope to complete the Course of Wesley Seminary Course of Study by the Summer of 2018.

I took time off from ministry due to the passing of my mom in September of 2014, and the passing of my son, Alex, in May of 2016. Being away from ministry was something that was difficult for me to do, but necessary for my personal care and healing.

I love Jesus and all of God's people. I love to hear life stories. I love to build relationships and friendships. I would like to get to know you and share more about my life and learn about yours.

I hope and pray your summer days are filled with lots of love and laughter with family and friends!!! May God continue to use you to build His kingdom through the teachings of His word, Amen!

Grace, love and peace,

Flor Norris-Hoydilla

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6
