Rediscovering Jesus: Bridges, Not Walls

March 25, 2012

"The critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It's easy to see a smudge on your neighbor's face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own." ~ Jesus

Reflection Questions:

  1. How important do I feel it is to build bridges between people? What, if anything, holds me back from building bridges?
  2. How does Jesus' prayer for oneness sit with me? Does it seem realistic or more like "pie-in-the-sky" thinking?
  3. Is there any group that I need to ask God to help me build a bridge between?
  4. Am I ready to begin building a bridge by emptying my dualistic mind in contemplative prayer so God can fill my heart with compassion?
